Above, Chelsea Clinton is at the Women In Cable Telecommunications Leadership Conference this past August 2012, as the opening session keynote speaker.
Below are a few quotes from her speech:
People don’t change; not because they don’t want to, but because it’s sometimes hard to envision..It’s important to shine a light on solutions...We need more positive stories in the world.Chelsea Clinton is at the conference in her capacity as a television reporter for NBC. I wrote here that:
Chelsea, although a power woman and a reporter at NBC, has the expression of a frighted woman. This is the same, insecure expression she has on at the "leadership" conference. I've written here about these prominent, narcissistic women (at least those prominently media present women) who seem unable to live up to their importance.
I'm not the only one to notice Chelsea's ineptitude. Even papers who would seem to be Clinton (mom and dad) supporters canned her her news reporting, as in this Washington Post review:
'What was surprising to see on Monday night’s show is how someone can be on TV in such a prominent way and, in her big moment, display so very little charisma - none at all. Either we’re spoiled by TV’s unlimited population of giant personalities or this woman is one of the most boring people of her era' (Hank Stuever, Washington Post) [Via >The Daily Mail]
A Clinton is in the news again. This time it is Chelsea Clinton. She is:
...suddenly helping the family's Clinton Foundation collect email addresses.Lawrence Auster, from the View From the Right sent me the story with this comment:
My take on her: simply in order to exist as her parent's daughter, she had to construct a false self and false consciousness and be that for the rest of her life. Every photo of her conveys to me someone who is out of touch, artificial, just as her mother is artificial.Chelsea married into a notorious family. Her husband, Mark Mezvinsky is:
...the son of two former members of Congress. His mother, Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky (D-Pa.), served one term (1992-1994) and his father, Edward M. Mezvinsky (D-Iowa), served two (1973-1977.) Ed Mezvinsky pleaded guilty in 2002 to swindling dozens of investors out of $10 million and served five years in prison. He was released in April 2008, but remains on federal probation and still owes almost $9.4 million in restitution to his victims.[Source: Politics Daily. Article no longer online]I am not surprised that Chelsea formed her own family with the son of shady people. Her own parents have been dodging all kinds of accusations all of their professional lives. It must be difficult to come clean from all that.
Of course Chelsea could have done so. It is difficult to renounce one's parents at any time. But she could have found a discreet way to separate herself from them, mentally and physically. Still, the perks of being a Clinton (she never changed her name after her marriage) must be quite high.
