Is the New York Post reading my blog :-)?

It has this, appropriately in its Fashion section:
Let them wear cupcake!

Stores are having a sugar rush over the sweetest trend for spring
This is followed by ten (wearable) items which, according to Johannah Masters, Freelance Stylist/Market Editor/Trend Forecaster, take their inspiration from the godly cupcake. These items range from a pair of cupcake earrings for $2.80 at Forever 21 to a Judith Leiber cupcake cocktail purse for $4,295 at Bergdorf Goodman. I suppose the $1,555 Miu Miu dress will just make you look cute and cupcakey.

I kind of like the cocktail purse, but since I don't have the resources to buy it, or the venue to wear it, I might try the $2.80 earrings (just for fun, and they look more like dangly baubles than cupcakes).

I recently posted my cupcake stories: Indulge in a Mini-Cupcake, and Serious Matters: Small Feet and Small Cakes(But Large Bosoms, where I opine that this new cupcake indulgence is a way to calm that "sweet tooth" which women are convinced they have, and need to satiate - a bit like alcoholics. Although my posts are about food, their point is that the image women have of themselves is either as too fat or as little girls, and never the mature, grown woman that they should be.

Of course, there is none of that judgmental take by the NYP, and its Freelance Stylist/Market Editor/Trend Forecaster Ms. Masters, who might indulge in cupcakes (sorry, mini-cupcakes) herself.
